Twenty Years in the Making

A Career Built Around Helping People Move and Heal

For more than 20 years, I have had the privilege of serving patients in healthcare, with a special passion for geriatrics and pain management. As a physical therapist, I have helped countless people regain mobility, recover from injuries, reduce pain, and return to the activities they love.

There is nothing more rewarding than watching someone take their first steps after surgery, regain their independence, or accomplish what they once believed was impossible. But over the years, I began to notice a pattern.

My Story

Why I Combine Physical Therapy and Functional Medicine

A Question That Changed Everything

Many of my patients improved with therapy, only to return months later with the same pain, another injury, or a new diagnosis. We were treating symptoms successfully, but not always the deeper reasons their bodies kept breaking down.

As physical therapists, we are experts in movement, rehabilitation, and restoring function. But there were times I wished I could do more. I wanted to understand why inflammation persisted, why healing was delayed, why fatigue lingered, or why pain continued despite excellent rehabilitation. Those questions led me to functional medicine.

Looking at the Whole Person

Functional medicine opened my eyes to a different way of looking at health. Instead of asking "What disease does this person have?" it asks "Why is this happening?" It looks at the body as one connected system, where nutrition, gut health, hormones, sleep, stress, and movement all influence healing. Suddenly, many of the missing pieces began to make sense.

True healing requires more than stronger muscles or better balance. It requires creating an internal environment where the body can heal itself.

Bridging Two Worlds

Today, my mission is to bridge these two worlds. Physical therapy restores movement, function, and independence. Functional medicine helps uncover and address what may be preventing optimal healing. Together, they create a more complete approach to health, one built not just for recovering from illness or injury, but for building resilience, vitality, and lifelong wellness.

A Special Passion for Older Adults

My passion is especially strong for older adults. Aging should not automatically mean pain, weakness, or loss of independence. While aging is inevitable, declining health is often influenced by factors we can improve. My goal is to help you age with strength, confidence, purpose, and the ability to keep doing what you love.

Seeing the Whole Person

This journey has transformed how I care for patients. I no longer see someone as a painful knee, a stiff shoulder, or chronic back pain. I see a whole person with a unique story, unique challenges, and real potential for healing.

That is why I chose to combine physical therapy and functional medicine. It is not simply a new way of practicing healthcare, it is the future of helping people live longer, healthier, and more vibrant lives.
